How do Onsite Adobe Illustrator Training Courses work?
There are a number of benefits to onsite courses but the main ones are:
Training is focused entirely on your and your company requirements and is held onsite at your premises saving you /your team travel time and expenses.
Our Illustrator Training Courses are focused totally around you and your specific needs, these aren’t a generic one size fits all course.
Prior to the training we organise a video meeting /voice call to discuss the course content and organise the logistics of the training.
Which should I use Photoshop or Illustrator?
To put it simply if main priority is working with photographs then you should choose Photoshop but if you are looking for a more artwork based approach then it has to be Illustrator. We usually say that if you were David Bailey he’d use Photoshop but if you were Monet his choice would be Illustrator.
How long do your Illustrator Courses take?
They usually run from between 1 to 3 days or even more depending on the content. For example our Illustrator Fundamentals course takes one day when you learn the basics of the software, logo design and exporting to print or digital media but our Adobe Illustrator MasterClass runs for 3 days.
It really depends on what needs to be covered and of course how many delegates you book onto the course.
What other Illustrator Courses do you run?
We also run Creative Cloud Courses combining different levels of Photoshop or mix and match Photoshop with other applications such as Premiere Pro, InDesign and Adobe Acrobat.

You can choose to mix and match different levels of our Photoshop Courses or add one of our other Creative Cloud Courses such as InDesign or a mix of Illustrator and Photoshop training.
Our training sessions cover all aspects of Illustrator from the very beginning through to more complex features such as the Pen Tool and Trace.
We work very closely with our clients from the start of their Illustrator training project through to the very end focusing totally on their learning needs and current ability with the software.
Probably the most famous vector art software in the world and if Salvador Dali suddenly returned we’ve no doubt that he’d be using Illustrator on a daily basis.
-
- Our courses range from Introduction to Illustrator Training through to Tailored Illustrator Training Workshops so the real question probably is “What do I need to get out of this course?”.
- If you are a complete beginner then the Introduction to Illustrator Course is the obvious answer but depending on your needs you could opt for content from the Introduction and Intermediate Courses for more specific needs such as infographics, charts, social media and colour work
- For those who have some skills and are familiar with some tools and features and would like to build on those existing skills then the Intermediate Illustrator Course is the obvious choice.
- However more and more people need to use the software for specific purposes which means it makes sense to create a tailored Illustrator Course.
To make sure we get the course exactly right for you we organise a video meeting /voice call where we discuss exactly what needs to be covered on the training. This meeting is also useful as well from a logistical point of view when we can organise timings etc for the day.
Well it’s back to maths, you’re never far from maths when working with vectors.
Illustrator works with graphics based on mathematical lines, curves and points so when scaling an image there’s no loss of quality however small or large you want it to be.
Vector Image Characteristics
File Size: Vector files are typically smaller than raster files, especially for simple designs, because they don’t store information about each pixel.
Flexible Editing: Vectors consist of objects making them flexible and super editable. You can change colors, move elements, and modify shapes with ease.
Common Formats: Popular vector formats include SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics), AI (Adobe Illustrator), EPS (Encapsulated PostScript), and PDF (Portable Document Format, when used for vector graphics).
What are they used for?
Logos, which need to be scaled for different sizes like business cards, websites, and billboards.
Illustrations, drawing and editing complex designs that might need resizing or editing without quality loss.
Text converted to vector can be resized without becoming blurry, making it ideal for graphic design.
I
Whereas Photoshop works as a raster based piece of software meaning it’s pixel based. When deciding which one is best for you it’s best to describe it as Photoshop for Photographs and Illustrator for Artwork.
Illustrator integrates perfectly with most of the other Creative Cloud apps including InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat letting you seamlessly switch between each one.
Once you’ve crafted and drawn your artwork in Illustrator you can drop them into Photoshop for a little more work or use them directly in InDesign or online.
Illustrator is famous for its Bézier curve but do you know where it came from.
The curve was named after Pierre Bézier, a French engineer who worked at Renault and used the curve for the design of cars. You can find out more about him here and the full history of the curve here.
We just love stuff like this which is why our Adobe Training Courses are full of little nuggets of info just like that.
