Half-Day Adobe & Affinity Training and Short Sprints

Half‑day online training offers a highly focused, practical session designed for teams who want targeted learning without committing to a full day. This format is available exclusively for our live online courses, giving people the chance to build essential skills in a shorter, more manageable block of time that wraps seamlessly around their working day.

These short-form training sprints are available across our entire courses, including all core Adobe Creative Cloud applications, such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Adobe Express, as well as the full Affinity suite.

Short Sprints Adobe Training Options

Half-day courses and Greta Powells short topic sprints offer organisations a highly flexible way to master Adobe apps in focused, manageable blocks. Perfect for remote or busy teams, these live online sessions are designed to fit seamlessly around your working day while targeting the exact skills you need most.

Our bespoke, short-sprint sessions provide intensive two-to-four-hour windows designed for maximum focus. This flexible online delivery allows you to choose standard half-day blocks or bite-sized short sprints that align with your team’s availability.

Every session features tailored, project-led content built entirely around the real-world tasks and workflows your team faces daily. This means zero filler we focus strictly on the specific tools and Adobe apps you need for everyday content creation

Half-day Adobe sessions

Our flexible online sessions offer targeted training built entirely around your team’s exact needs. We can easily split a comprehensive full-day course into two manageable half-day blocks, or you can book a single standalone session if you prefer to focus strictly on specific parts of the software rather than covering an entire syllabus. This 100% online delivery features live, interactive training that matches perfectly with a remote or hybrid team setup.

These targeted short sprints last between two and four hours, providing rapid, bite-sized sessions designed to troubleshoot your exact workflow bottlenecks, master single tools, or fix layout issues. Because there is absolutely zero filler, every minute of the training is built around the real-world tasks and Adobe applications your organisation uses every day.

Adobe apps available for half day training

For our standard online courses, we offer complete scheduling flexibility by splitting traditional full-day courses into two half-day sessions. Alternatively, independent half-day blocks can be booked to focus on specific, isolated topics. These tailored sessions are built entirely around your organisation’s unique content and workflows, ensuring your staff skip the filler and learn exactly what they need for real-world tasks.

We deliver this practical guidance across the entire Adobe Creative Cloud suite, focusing on the essential apps your team relies on every day.

Our core online courses cover Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Adobe Express. We also offer introductory sessions for Adobe Premiere Pro to help teams master basic video editing, with advanced video training available upon request.

Who benefits from half day Adobe Training

This bite-sized format is ideal for busy modern marketing teams who cannot afford to take a full day out of their production schedule, allowing them to learn intensive new skills in the morning and return to live company projects in the afternoon.

It is equally beneficial for hybrid or remote workforces where full-day screen fatigue can hinder focus, making shorter, high-energy interactive blocks much more effective for knowledge retention. Additionally, it perfectly serves experienced Adobe users who do not need a comprehensive beginner course, but instead require a rapid, targeted deep-dive to solve a specific workflow bottleneck, master a new feature, or refresh their current template processes.

Flexible short-form online training options

Short‑format online training gives organisations even more flexibility, especially when teams need focused learning that fits around deadlines and day‑to‑day work. These sessions are delivered in clear, manageable blocks and can be shaped around the specific tools, topics or workflows a department needs.

  • bespoke short‑sprint sessions (2–4 hours)

  • flexible scheduling across a 24‑hour window

  • ideal for busy teams who need training that fits around projects

  • available across all Creative Cloud apps

Examples of recent short topic sprints for Adobe Training Projects

Adobe Express Short Sprint, Video Creation & Editing (Half‑Day)

This was a focused half-day online Adobe workshop covered video tools in Adobe Express, offering a practical sprint for improving video production skills. The session included creating and editing short-form and standard video content using layout tools and timeline adjustments, with a focus on voiceovers, background audio, transitions, and animated titles. Participants produced social-ready versions of assets optimised for platforms like YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.

Inside the Course: Clip Maker vs. Standard

The workshop explored the Clip Maker tool, which is ideal for rapidly generating bite-sized shorts, reels, or clips from long-form content like webinars, YouTube vlogs, or talking-head interviews. For building assets completely from scratch, we shifted into the Standard Video Editing workspace to blend B-roll clips, build complex layers, and add custom stickers, transitions, and animations.

Oh and by the way - did you know?

The Clip Maker works best with one speaker at a time. If your video has multiple people talking over each other, the AI can get confused by the cross-talk. For multi-person interviews, you’ll want to jump into the Standard Editor to manually clean up the audio tracks and colour-code your captions!

Intro to InDesign for Marketing

This targeted short-form course focused purely on streamlining efficiency and consistency for business documents. We took a look at advanced character and paragraph formatting, teaching the quickest ways to set up, edit, and apply consistent text styles across large layouts and automate their custom style design for complex Tables of Contents (TOC).

This took about 3 hours as we focused on generating a styled TOC in the document and also generating a TOC over multiple chapters using the Book Panel.

Photoshop AI Masking Refresher

A fast-paced, advanced workshop built specifically for design pros who need sharper, quicker editing workflows. This session strips away basic tools to focus entirely on mastering Photoshop’s latest intelligent selection features, automated background removals, and complex neural filters to cut down daily asset production times.

Quick Tips flowing today

You can get noticeably cleaner hair and edge selections in Photoshop by switching Select Subject from Device to Cloud. The cloud model uses Adobe’s more advanced segmentation engine, often producing sharper, more natural edges on tricky areas that normally take time to refine by hand.

InDesign Data Merge: Automated Event Badge Sprint

We ran a great short sprint recently for a client whose L&D and HR teams were drowning in manual data entry ahead of their large corporate events. Instead of them tediously copy and pasting hundreds of names, titles, and company logos one by one, we hopped online for a fast-paced afternoon session focused entirely on InDesign’s Data Merge tool.

We looked at how to cleanly format their Excel spreadsheets into tab-delimited (TXT) files, map variable text fields and then auto-link staff headshots directly into their badge layouts.

By the end of the sprint, the team had a completely automated template that generated thousands of personalised, print-ready event badges with a single click saving them days of tedious admin work.

Oh and another - did you know? (Can't resist these)

You can prevent ugly text gaps when database fields are empty (like a missing “Address Line 2”). By turning on Remove Blank Lines for Empty Fields in the Data Merge menu, InDesign will automatically collapse any empty lines, seamlessly pulling the text below it up to keep your grid layout perfectly uniform!

And another did you know? (See what I mean)

InDesign can instantly auto-generate a unique, scannable QR code for every single item in your grid! Simply add a hashtag (#) to the start of your spreadsheet column header (like #URL), fill the rows with your links, and drag the field onto your layout InDesign handles the rest.

Photoshop and Adobe Express for Social Creators

Delegates designed and created a social media post using Photoshop’s powerful image editing tools before exporting it to Adobe Express for resizing and scheduling. This workflow enables marketing teams to create high-quality master graphics on the desktop and quickly adapt them for various social media platforms.

It is ideal for digital marketing departments who need to design high-quality, branded master graphics on the desktop and then quickly repurpose them into various social media sizes on the fly

Firefly Moodboards & Workflow Sprint

We ran a concentrated two-hour session focusing on how creative teams can leverage Adobe Firefly Boards to rapidly brainstorm concept variations. We looked at how to use Firefly artboards as digital workspaces to collect visual references, generate commercially safe AI variations, and seamlessly link multi-asset concepts together. By teaching the team how to group and remix layouts on an infinite canvas, they learned to build cohesive visual moodboards and streamline their entire product development cycle.

And another - getting carried away now

You can force Adobe Firefly to keep your exact layout composition across completely different design concepts! By uploading a rough sketch into the Structure Reference panel, Firefly locks the geometry and object placement in place, allowing your team to instantly generate perfectly aligned visual variations without rewriting your prompts.

Affinity half day training

Affinity training can also be delivered as half‑day online sessions, covering the updated Affinity suite now known as Pixel, Vector and Layout (formerly Affinity Photo, Designer and Publisher). These focused, practical short training blocks give teams clear guidance on the tools they use every day, offering a flexible alternative to Adobe training for organisations working with the Affinity apps.

Examples of recent short sprints for Affinity Training Projects

Affinity Layout: Corporate Newsletter Template Sprint (Half-Day)

We ran a highly practical half-day online workshop for a communications team needing to standardise their monthly internal publications. We jumped straight into the Layout Studio to build a robust multi-page newsletter template from scratch. The team learned to set up structured master pages to automate headers, footers, and page numbers, define consistent text styles for clean typography hierarchy, and build a unified global color swatch palette. By the end of the morning, they had a production-ready blueprint that ensures perfect departmental consistency while cutting layout editing times in half.

Affinity Layout: Grid & Calendar Automation Sprint (2-Hour)

This rapid, highly concentrated two-hour session was built for a marketing department tasked with generating complex, date-driven promotional calendars. Instead of them manually drawing grids and typing numbers day by day, we looked at how to utilise advanced column guides and baseline grids to build a perfectly uniform layout instantly. We covered automated text frame flows to rapidly thread dates through the grid and used the Vector Studio tools to drop in branding assets smoothly transforming what used to be a tedious, error-prone administrative task into an efficient, repeatable workflow.

And the quick tip for the Affinity Calendar

You can skip manually typing every single date when building marketing calendars in Affinity Layout (Publisher)! By using linked text frames alongside a baseline grid, you can type your numbers as a single running sequence and let the software automatically thread and flow the dates perfectly into each calendar box for you.

Adobe to Affinity Switch: Crossover & Migration Sprint (2-Hour)

This rapid two-hour online session is incredibly popular with teams looking to drop their monthly Adobe subscriptions without losing creative momentum. We take the friction out of migration by looking at the interface differences, tool translations, and workspace features between the two suites. Your staff will learn exactly how to open their existing Adobe files seamlessly inside Affinity, where their favorite shortcuts and panels are hidden, and how to comfortably navigate the unified Pixel, Vector, and Layout studios so they can hit the ground running with zero downtime.
