About InDesign Courses
At Greta Powell Training we run a range of InDesign Courses from Introduction through to Advanced levels.
We specialise in delivering tailored Creative Cloud Training including Photoshop Training, Illustrator Training and Premiere Pro Training.
These are ideal for closed company groups, large team rollouts and private individuals and available either as online InDesign Training sessions held with a live instructor or hosted onsite at your premises at dates and times to suit your schedules.
Our Creative Cloud Courses are designed around you, your content and what you need to learn to get your document work /projects completed to a professional level. We can include your own content on any of our set courses, mix and match two or more of our InDesign Courses or add one of our other Creative Cloud Courses such as Photoshop.
Our training sessions cover all aspects of InDesign from designing flyers, infographics to magazine /brochure /tender design and e-book design for output to Amazon etc.
We work very closely with our clients from the start of the InDesign training project through to the very end focusing totally on their learning needs and current ability with the software.
What is InDesign?
InDesign is desktop publishing software which is used to create a multitude of design layouts and spreads. If you are looking to design flyers, create your own business materials such as business cards, menus or work with larger documents such as magazines and books then InDesign is the one to use.
It integrates perfectly with most of the other Creative Cloud apps including Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat letting you seamlessly switch between each one. Edit and create your photographs in Photoshop or design Artwork in Illustrator and then simply drop your graphics into InDesign.
Not only can you design for print but InDesign also gives you the option to create PDF’s and Interactive PDF’s.

What is an InDesign Interactive PDF?
An InDesign Interactive PDF is designed for use onscreen. It can contain the same objects as an InDesign print documents such as images, text and artwork but amongst other features you can add hyperlinks, multimedia video and audio plus design presentations.
You don’t have to create an InDesign Interactive PDF from scratch because existing InDesign documents can easily be repurposed for interactivity.

Which InDesign Course should I take?

- Ranging from Introduction to InDesign through to InDesign Workshops the real question is probably “Which InDesign Course do I need?”.
- If you are a complete beginner then the Introduction to InDesign Course is the obvious answer but these days people have different skills in desktop publishing and many different needs.
- For those who have basic skills and are able to put together simple documents but would like to build on those existing skills then the Intermediate InDesign Course is the obvious choice.
- However more and more people need to use the software for specific purposes which could be for anything such as tenders, magazine, training notes, sales brochures, company reports which may need to have data imported from Excel or Charts designed in Adobe Illustrator
To make sure we get the course exactly right for you we normally organise a Teams /Zoom video call where we discuss exactly what needs to be covered on the training. This meeting is also useful as well from a logistical point of view when we can organise timings etc for the day.

Our online Adobe InDesign Courses run virtually with a live instructor giving you direct contact with them throughout the training via video, chat & screen share.
We run this online training via all the most popular video conferencing software including Zoom, Teams, Google and WebEx. It’s your choice which one you prefer.
We are happy to record your training session for you to refer back to after the training.
